Well, apart from snowboarding, visiting relatives and other tidbits, I started with the Japanese course I talked about earlier.
Our class is small: 7 people and Mana-sensei make up for an intensive course.
The first time didn't go that well, unfortunately; after a rather long working day, switching to Japanese while maintaining the separation betwee English and Dutch (Mana-sensei speaks English with an occasional Dutch word thrown in, my classmates speak Dutch and some heavily accented English, so I switch English when I want to talk in Dutch and vice versa.
Another thing is that it's rather difficult to speak Japanese out of the blue.
When you're in Japan, the switch happens almost naturally; you have to, otherwise people won't understand what you're saying. But sitting in a class full of Dutchies makes it kind of hard.
I hope next week will be better; I'm not giving up.
Ganbatte!
Cheers, K.

Well, in the same spirit that Mr Mudkips uses to encourage me:
