John McClane is back, and everyone who even thinks of getting in his way, is in for some bad news.
It's good to see that McClane is still the oldfashioned cop for who as far as modern technology is concerned, progress peaked with frozen pizza, as he, for instance, has no idea why his boss sees where he is at that moment.

You won't see him checking his e-mail either. He just became older, his daughter has grown up (his son and ex-wife never come into the picture) and still at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Die Hard 4.0 starts out good; you don't know what's going to happen at the beginning, only that some whizkids are being killed (and quite spectacularly at that) and you don't really understand the bigger picture until some 40 minutes into the movie, when some things become somewhat clearer.
The movie is also a nice jab at the ever growing concern of information on the nation to counteract terrorism, the backup plans for this information and what someone with the right tools and information can do with that.
The tech/computer-side of the movie is very Hollywood-ish, therefore showing many fancy graphics, downloads at a speed which defies all bandwidth limitations (allthough with the whole country kicked off of the network, you could say it's feasible) and I do sincerely hope that some of the stunts pulled computer-wise aren't possible in real life.
That aside, DH4.0 is a worthy addition to the Die Hard series; very recommendable for those who enjoyed the first three, and those who just enjoy a good action movie. :)
Bruce Willis is one hell of an actor, and just the kind of guy to be in a movie like this.
Cheers, K.
