Kokura

Kokura. One mere page in the Rough Guide really doesn't do it justice. While I agree it's not the most special city in the world, and there are other more beautiful spots, it is worth it to make the trip, especially when the trip is only 16 minutes long. ;)
We got a tourist map (which wasn't very useful, as it didn't list nearly as much spots compared to the tourist booklet) and started walking to the park.

Unfortunately, the park was a pale shade of green, but we did manage to find us some sakura. \o/

We also ran across a house which was decorated with all sorts of statues; fun to see how creative some people can be without a garden of their own.

We took a Local to Mojiko afterwards, to see the Retro Town there and visit the Railway Museum.
Very interesting if you're a closet train nerd like Robert and me. ;)

When we got back to Hakata, we ran into a couple of Koreans with "Netherlands"-soccershirts. Coach Hiddink is still some sort of a god over there, or so it seems.

I'm keeping this short, since I don't feel that well; tomorrow, we head for our home away from home: Osaka.

Cheers, K.
