Well, as I'm writing this, I'm enjoying a can of Asahi beer in my hotel room at Toyoku Inn in Ooimachi, Tokyo.
The flight went smooth, the weather was good en no real turbulence occurred.
We spent the majority of the day exchanging Railpass vouchers for the real thing, travelling from the airport to Tokyo itself and exploring the surroundings of the hotel.
However, I'm quite tired right now; I feel like it's 3 in the morning, while it's only 10 in the evening over here.
Tomorrow, we move to Miyazaki, which means a 12hr train trip.
Cheers, K.
Today, during my flight to Tokyo, I saw three movies; A Night at the Museum, The Wild and The Prestige. (sorry, no link for now; I'm beat)
The first two were so-so; ANatM had a few funny moments, but in the end, it's nothing more than a feelgood movie.
I already wrote The Wild into the ground a while ago, so I had a nap during that one.
When they started The Prestige, I decided to have a go at it, and I was not disappointed!.
The Prestige tells the story of two illusionists going at eachother after the tragic death of a female assistant, who happens to be also the wife of one of them. A friendship becomes a rivalry, a rivalry becomes a battle where no-one will be spared.
A well-written script takes care of the suspense, and keeps the viewer in the dark about what really transpired.
There are only two things that keep this movie from being a possible true story: Nicola Tesla was crazy, but not as crazy as depicted in the movie; and the workings of his machine in the movie just isn't possible.
The movie kept me on the edge of my seat; brilliant stuff.
Cheers, K.
