Anime: Cowboy Bebop

Another classic tonight: Cowboy Bebop
For those who expect a Wild West-themed anime; go and watch Trigun instead, but for those who like a jazzy atmosphere, good blues and jazz music and laid-back characters, doused with some good humour in a future setting, Cowboy Bebop is your show.

Starting out with bounty hunters Spike Spiegel and Jet Black aboard the spaceship Bebop, living from bounty to bounty, we are soon introduced to a Welsh Corgi called Ein. Ein is not just any dog, but our heroes don't know that.
Third episode introduces Faye Valentine; a woman with quite a past, and the final regular, Ed, is introduced a few shows later.

The episodes do not form one strict series; it's quite possible to watch several of them as a standalone episode. However, some things make more sense when you watch the series in the correct sequence.

CB is one of my favourites; the music, the atmosphere and the characters make it a quite special show, full of jokes, references to music and more or less famous people, and very entertaining.

See you, space cowboy.

Cheers, K.

Hands down, Cowboy Bebop is my absolute favourite anime. It's just like you said: the music, the ambiance, the characters and story line.

Oh, the music! *sigh* Last time Menno was visiting and we popped in a CB DVD I noticed that all three of us (menno, marli and me) were tapping hands/feet to the beat of a chase scene. That's not something many soundtracks achieve!
