I spent the evening at Thomas and Marli's place yesterday (thank you again for dinner and a fun evening, guys), and during the evening, the topic hit a couple of super magnets, made from Neodymium.

Now, I heard of them years before, but never had one in hand (or maybe I had, but not really strong ones)
Yesterday, I had.:)

At nearly two centimeters in size, these things are a serious hazard to bank cards and some electronics. And if you're not paying attention, they can be hazardous to your fingers as well, as I nearly experienced yesterday. :)

Once they're stuck to eachother, prying these things apart is nearly impossible; you'll need something around one of the spheres to roll the other magnet onto, and even then, it's damn hard to separate them, along with the fact that you could easily squash your fingers if they happen to be in the way of the magnets.

Pretty cool stuff. ;)

One side of me would want to toy around a bit with something like that, on the other hand; where to deposit them safely when not in use?
Thomas has them in small leather pouches in the linen closet, for safety; far away from delicate gadgets. ;)

Cheers, K.
