Right, as I posted yesterday, on New Year's Eve I finally made my acquaintance with the Wii. To be short: it totally rocks! In my opinion, this is
the partyconsole for the next few years, due to the way you control your games; while the Wii may not have stunning graphics compared to its competitors, it does have a killer app; anything you can do with the Wiimote (and nunchuk), basically. :)
I played games from
Wii Sports and
Wii Play, together with the people I was with, and it was a blast. :)
Bowling was quite easy (but to that easy) and fun to do, as you can throw hard, soft, curved and whatnot. The only thing I missed about it was a weight of 14 kilo's flying off towards a bunch of pins, but the rest felt real enough to keep the game fun when lacking a real bowling alley.
Tennis proved to be quite exhausting, as is boxing; I must note that the nunchuk's cable is long enough to be comfortable, but not too long to be a nuisance.
Modern day Duck Hunt was fun, but I didn't see the dog? The other minigames also provide good gameplay, and I trust the future will hold much games utilising the Wiimote's capacities to the fullest, but based on what I saw, the Wii is one to have if you're into playing games that really involve you as a player, other than just sitting in front of your TV like a couch potato. ;)
It might be a while before I'm going to buy myself a Wii, but I will eventually buy one.
Cheers, K.
