According to the paper, there will be more casualties resulting from fireworks this year, since the government decided to allow heavier pieces with more black powder in them; some of the bigger pots ranging from 500 grammes to 2.5 kilo's of explosive material.
We'll see; they could be right, I hope they're wrong. :)
I'm not doing anything regarding fireworks this year by the way; like previous years, I sit back and enjoy what other people bought. ;)
Something which began today, as a lot of people apparently can't wait until tomorrow night, and thus a steady torrent of bangs, whistles and flashes interrupted the evening. If that is anything to go by, tomorrow night will be like it's war.
For once, I'm glad I don't have any pets.
Cheers, K.

People started setting off fireworks three days ago, here in Utrecht. Or was it four? I don't care, as long as our neighbourhood stays quiet. It usually does on new year's eve.
Like you, we choose not to waste money on fireworks. On the one had that leaves us with more money for munchies and DVDs, while on the other it saves the environment a few grammes of heavy metals going into the sky and ground.
Ugh... Stupid fireworks.

Well, as expected, the flashes and explosions are gradually rising in frequency.
I hope your cat won't go any nuttier than usual.
