According to the paper, there will be more casualties resulting from fireworks this year, since the government decided to allow heavier pieces with more black powder in them; some of the bigger pots ranging from 500 grammes to 2.5 kilo's of explosive material.
We'll see; they could be right, I hope they're wrong. :)

I'm not doing anything regarding fireworks this year by the way; like previous years, I sit back and enjoy what other people bought. ;)

Something which began today, as a lot of people apparently can't wait until tomorrow night, and thus a steady torrent of bangs, whistles and flashes interrupted the evening. If that is anything to go by, tomorrow night will be like it's war.

For once, I'm glad I don't have any pets.

Cheers, K.

Well, according to CNN.com, Saddam Hussein was executed about 30 minutes ago.
I won't go into the execution itself; the court came to the conclusion that he deserved the death penalty for what he did or what occurred under his responsibility, and that's all she wrote.

But one thing puzzles me; one of the members to Saddam's team of lawyers said that the Americans would guard Saddam intensively until right before they hand him over to the Iraqi authorities, in order to guarantee that Saddam will be executed respectfully.

How on earth can you kill someone respectfully against his or her own will?

Cheers, K.
