Well, it's been ten days since I said
goodbye to cable, and I must say; I like it! :)
I'm using my equipment on purpose, instead of just hanging on the couch, zapping away. (I must say that was something I didn't do very often anyway, but when you're tired and don't want to go to bed yet, that's the easiest way to spend an evening, no?)
So now I'm doing other things with my time, getting stuff done in the house, get out for a ride on my bike or a stroll around the block (although that's definitely more fun when you have a dog happily trundling next to you), arranging things on my computer and go to bed early. ;) Now to get rid of this perpetual head cold, and I'm sorted, sort of...
I talked about referrers a few months ago; I still kind of keep track of where most of my readers come from, and thus I ran into a few
other blogs and
columns that described their experiences without cable TV. As a guy named Brian O'Neill describes it;
"it's liberating".
So at this moment, I'm not even thinking about getting a dish, as I'm steadily working through my pile of unwatched movies and series. I spent yesterday evening watching
The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift and the excellent Ghibli movie
Kurenai no Buta [Porco Rosso]. Brilliant stuff.
Well, I'm off to take a shower, get some groceries, arrange some stuff for Anime 2007 and I have a evening of boardgames ahead of me over at
Games -n- Stuff (Dutch).
Cheers, K.
