Another oldie; I spent the evening watching
The Day of the Jackal; the 1973 original of 1997 remake
The Jackal, and I must say; the original wins hands down when plot, suspense and overall performance is concerned.
A British assasin called "The Jackal" is hired by a French organisation called
OAS to assasinate Charles de Gaulle, after a failed attempt by themselves.
The movie describes his preparations in full detail, while also describing the actions of French intelligence in their attempt to find out what the OAS is up to and after one of the OAS-members cracks under their interrogations, to find the Jackal and stop him.
The remake has the same kind of buildup, but fails at the end, so I recommend the original over the remake, despite me being a Bruce Willis-fan. :)
Cheers, K.
