Well, when I wanted to pop a DVD into my modified player for a quick episode of
Asagiri no Miko yesterday evening, the player would have none of it, stating that it couldn't find a disc.
Put in another; still no dice, and the AnM-disc played fine in my livingroom player.
So I reckon that the other half of the Encore's pickup-unit finally died (the player refused to read CDs anymore for a long time now, but played DVDs just fine -until yesterday), so now I have to find a new player with VGA-capabilities, without having to spend too much money.
Tips are welcome. ;)
