I've been watching
Flightplan over the past couple of days. Over the past couple of days? Yes, I switched the movie off after some 40 minutes of supposed "Hitchcockian suspension" and bitched somewhat about the poor sense of avionics the production team had and the truckloads of space in a supposedly commercial aeroplane. This afternoon, I decided to give it another go, and I have to say that Flightplan is worth it after all. :)
Jodie Foster plays Kyle Pratt; an engineer which helped design the plane she's about to board with her daughter Julia. A few days ago, her husband committed suicide by jumping off a roof. During the flight, Kyle and Julia fall asleep, but when Kyle awakes shortly after that, Julia is nowhere to be seen.
Panic ensues, as Kyle wants to find her daughter at any price, and she convinces the captain (Sean Bean) to restrict everyone to their seats and have the flight crew turn the plane upside down in order to find Julia, but she's nowhere to be found.
Could it be that Kyle's husband took Julia with him when he jumped off of that roof and Kyle is in severe denial?
As said; the first 40 minutes or so are quite boring when you dive head first into this movie, without knowing anything of what this movie is about. But once you get past that, everything falls into place and makes it to a worthy movie to watch.
Cheers, K.
