I got around to watch Mr. & Mrs. Smith yesterday, a movie starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and went into it with high expectations. The movie starts out promising; Pitt and Jolie are married for five or six years, and it's kind of a boring marriage. However, little do they know that they're both spies for two different agencies, and their complete life is essentially a lie.
I love the part where they manage to handle their "jobs" without blowing their cover towards their spouse. They are unpleseantly surprised when they find out that their significant other is a spy as well, as they unknowingly to eachother are aiming for the same target.

Unfortunately, things go pearshaped after that revelation; they find out that their agencies are bent on them taking eachother out and you just know that's not going to happen (you can spot that from a hundred kilometres away).
Even a high-speed car chase is able to do anything about that, and the final firefight is just bland and entirely out of this world.

True Lies did a better job, but that was also more of an over-the-top movie than this one was. It's not that it's a total waste of two hours, I'd just wish they would have made a better ending.

Cheers, K.
