Jet lag tralala

Well, we're back home, having a wonderful jet lag and the usual set of regular problems.
It's 6 in the morning, I just spent some time bringing my computer here back to life; my CMOS battery decided to die, so I have to go out and get a new one.

Actually, I have to wait until noon before I can get one, since there are no convenience stores like 7/eleven or am/pm where I live (and while there are some Kiosk-like shops at the railwaystation, those do not carry batteries of any kind), and regular shops tend to open after noon on Mondays.

I'm already home-away-from-homesick, and I'm not even quite home yet, since I spent the night at my Mum's. (for all you nitpickers out there; yes, my Mum's place is home as well, but you know what I mean)
Who knows what I'll find when I return to my own house later today...

However, today, I'm going to try and get an Import Enabler for my GameCube; I found some reasonbly priced GC-games while in Japan, but I have a PAL GC (didn't feel like buying a second-hand GC in Japan; Import Enablers are cheaper and they work fine), so I have to convince my GC thay he's also capable of play the Japanese version of Super Monkey Ball through the IE-software. ;)
I hope that Dr. Games here in Utrecht has one, otherwise I'll have to get one online. Which sucks, 'cause then you have to wait for it and if you're lucky, wait for the mailman to hand it over because the shipment is too large for your letterbox or you'd have to sign for it, and the guy isn't visiting your house until 17:00 or so. No gamesshops filled to the brim with game consoles, accessories and games at the ready anymore.

Damn, I clearly have to switch my mood and pace back to the Dutch version of the world.
Oh well, that's life.

Cheers, K.

P.S. It's cold and we have a thunderstorm over our heads right now. Kuso!

Dude.

1. Welcome back! All of you. \o/

2. Would you believe that Media Markt sells import boot discs for the Gamecube? I've seen them on sale over there for a long time.

3. Dr Games doesn't like import stuff. They don't like pissing off their suppliers, the head honcho told me once. Actually, he told me that when I was lobbying over there, trying to get them to sponsor our festival.

Wake up and smell the coffee!
At least you can now walk around without an aircon implanted in your head :)

My jet lag wasn't so bad. Slept for 12 hours or so.

Only thing less pleasant was a dead mouse (the "Mus musculus" type) in a mouse trap near my pc. Must have been lying (and smelling) there for 2 weeks or so. Also some traces of blood (better stop reading here :P) of another one, but he managed to crawl back to under the floor. Been eating too much poison I guess (muhahahaha).
