Well, after a suspiciously easy flight (seriously; hardly any turbulence, I managed to get a few hours of sleep due to the fact that I had an Emergency Exit-seat and the food was reasonable too; I found out that I actually like larger verions of shrimp) to Tokyo, an equally easy domestic flight to Sapporo and an uneventful train ride (as expected) to Sapporo Station, we arrived in Sapporo safe and sound yesterday.
Our hotel here is literally two minutes away from Sapporo Station, so finding it wasn't very hard. ;) Today, we spent exploring the hotel's surroundings and did some shopping.
We also visited an arcade in one of the warehouses, and spotted Taiko no Tatsujin 8 (last summer, they had version 6) and the arcade version of Super Mario Kart. Very fun to do, and in proper 3D this time.
Geraldine and I also visited a small park here in Sapporo, Michel and I made a futile attempt to visit the open air museum and we had tonkatsu for lunch. No dinner tonight for me; I fell asleep on my bed around 18:00 and woke up around 22:00, and since the tonkatsu lunch was copious, not very hungry still.
Tomorrow, Geraldine and I will go to Wakkanai; the northern most city on the Japanese "main"land. The trip takes around 5 hours one way, but the first one goes around 8:30, so no need to get out of bed very early.
I took some pictures here and there; I'll upload some tomorrow when I return.
Cheers, K.
