I use my PDA ( XDA I ) as a phone and pda of course, but I also listen to podcasts on it (with an 512mb SD card). But I have to come to the conclusions that its far from ideal as a walkman. Not only is it next to impossible to get a decent headphone set for it (most you can get are mono carkits), but its 2.5mm jack is also pretty rare in the headphone scene.
Now I found myself also needing some kind of portable storage device, as my laptop’s poor 60gb drive is just overflowing with stuff.
So I came across this little jewel. Cant find any good reviews of this thing, but the specs seem to be there. Its predecessor the VP3310, was critisized for its low battery capacity, but it looks like this unit should perform a lot better in that regard. The site claims 11 hours as apposed to 3–4 hours on the VP3310.
Its a compact device, and supports interchangable 2.5” laptop harddrives, making it upgradable. And of course, it can play MP3 directly out of its storage.. and that is the key feature I was looking for.
Extra’s include an FM radio, voice-recording and a multi-card reader.
I will probably get myself the barebone version, so without the included harddrive, and equip it with a fast 80gb 2.5” drive of my own choosing.
So.. anyway.. I am seriously considdering this baby.
