Two weeks ago I went to the area of Valkenswaard, like Dommelen of Dommelsch fame. Basically it's all grass, with some small patches of woodland and between the trees are open areas with small lakes. In this time of the year those lakes are populated by noisy gulls. It's all pretty small scale in the dimensions of the Dommel creak, but that didn't prevent me from wandering into a swamp. If you really try you can get adventure in dutch nature, which is hardly larger than an average shopping mall...
