Bij de Miss Universe-verkiezing in augustus op de Bahama’s kwam ze niet bij de laatste vijftien, bij de Miss World-verkiezing in Zuid-Afrika wil ze revanche: Miss Nederland Avalon-Chanel Weyzig uit Zwolle. De missen die aan de wedstrijd meedoen zijn al bijna een maand op pad om zich op de finale voor te bereiden. Afgelopen weekend had ze nog pech toen ze toch niet naar de loting voor het WK Voetbal kon en haar koffer werd opengebroken. Dure jurken, sieraden en schoenen zijn weg. Maar ondanks de tegenslag wil ze morgen gekozen wordt tot de mooiste vrouw ter wereld. Tijdens Het Overijssels Hart belde ik met organisator Kim Kötter van de Miss Nederland-verkiezing die ook in Zuid-Afrika is. Dat gesprek is hieronder terug te luisteren.
