Aantonen dat hartpatiënten meer kunnen dan veel mensen denken. Dat was het doel van de Nederlandse Hart Expeditie 2007. Tien hartpatiënten en een medisch team van de Isala Klinieken in Zwolle beklommen daarvoor de hoogste berg van Zuid-Amerika. Hoewel één van de deelnemers tijdens de beklimming opnieuw hartproblemen kreeg, was het een geslaagde missie. Inmiddels is er een boek gemaakt over de expeditie. Een boek met vooral veel foto’s. Tijdens Het Overijssels Hart was één van de initiatiefnemers van de expeditie Rogier Ybema te gast samen met één van de hartpatiënten die hebben meegedaan, Riny Bekman uit Zwolle. Dat interview is hieronder terug te luisteren.
