“Forgiveness“
It's been a while, but no quite long enough for the wounds to heal. This movie's about the tough situation in South Africa were people have to learn to cope with the end of apartheid and the changes it brings in the social and racial structures (phew, long sentence). A former police officer needs to find closure for a crime he's committed, the murder of a black student during the apartheid regime. He goes the boy's family to.. to do what? Well, the title's pretty clear on that, and still the story remains interesting. The plot tends to be a bit predictable and that's not necessarily a problem, but the director takes a bit too much time to deliver the plot. The movie may not be a very strong one, plot-wise or other, but the topic has been handled very well.
So? My conclusion: a nice movie about a difficult subject, well-crafted with good performances.
