 2005 Edition

“Dead Man's Shoes“

Nice and sometimes beautifully tense movie. The revenge theme is an over-used one, but the film gets away with it quite nicely. The violence is mixed with hilarious scenes in the first half of the movie, but in the end it really, really gets to the sticky point of the main character's sword of vengeance (did I just write this? Hell, time for some anti-BS pills). Great performance by Paddy Considine, who gives us a nice ride along the edges of sanity and morality.
So? My conclusion: a reasonable movie with nicely worked out plot and some good performances from the cast.
