The hypothesis space of phonology

Jason Riggle's The complexity of hypotheses in Optimality Theory applies a new technique to Elementary Ranking Conditions: it introduces the notion of a shatterable set of ERCs, so that the standard techniques involving the Vapnik-Chervonenkis dimension of statistical learning theory can be applied.
