This is a rant post, beware.
22nd December 2005 Japan goes crazy, Kingdom hearts 2 has been released. My god did anybody see the people lining up? Or the shops overflowing with merchandise, posters, dolls, book and even more then you can imagine? Seemed like heaven to me..okey we will never go as far as that, but it's nice to see how enthusiastic people can be over a game.
28th of March 2006.
Close to 4 months since its release does Kingdom Hearts 2 arrive in North America. Damn that was a long wait. And straight away the first torrents show themselves. People bought the game, ripped it and then played it.
My first thought was, ‘Hey I’m going to wait, this game is too brilliant to get illegally. I can wait. It took 3 / 4 from Japan to get to the US so it should be about the same to Europe.

Can you believe it, October!!?? June or July fine, but October!? Where the hell is the justice in that!? Almost a whole year since its been released in Japan.
Seriously? What are they waiting for, what needs to be done to make it fit for Europe? It’s already been dubbed to English, all you need to do is convert it from a US Playstation system to a European one. Is that so hard?
What else? Advertisement? You knew it was coming since last year December?!
PLAN AHEAD PEOPLE!
It’s like they are forcing us to download. I have been waiting for 3 years since Kingdom Hearts 1. Hell I bought it, and paid for it at its original price, its now like 19,99 euro’s (still expensive mind you after 3 years)
When Kingdom Hearts 2 comes out we will be paying yet again the full price of 49,95 or something like that. And I am still willing to buy it, that’s not the issue here.
I’m sorry, but when I heard that we wouldn’t get it until October I snapped, and I’m already downloading it. It should be done in an hour or so.
It’s so sad really, how the game industry works. But its not only them, its everything electronic. Games, cd’s, movies and my favorite of all, anime. Europe is thirsting for what the far west and the far east has to offer. (I mean the US and Japan of course) It makes me wonder why all these industries hate downloading so much. True sales will slightly fall, but people like me are willing to still pay the price afterwards. So why not speed up the process, get your product on the market as quick as you can. Don’t let downloading be an option.
