Olaffur Eliasson in de San Francisco Chronicle:
"How can we achieve something non-normative and yet establish some sort of causal relationship with the cultural collective?" he asks. "I think that is the problem that America is facing, the causal relationship to the culture you're living in. I don't mean belonging. I mean, for example, do you really feel that it matters to vote? Does it make a difference if I go down the street? I simply don't know enough about America to be very specific about these questions. But I think in Europe, in the past decade or so, we have come to the conclusion that you can really only investigate or evaluate the individual if you stand on the platform of the collectivity. It simply doesn't make sense to talk about individuality if you don't have a sense of collectivity."

Het Serpentine Pavillion van Studio Olaffur Eliasson ziet er ook goed uit, misschien kunnen ze in Nederland eens iets bouwen!
