In the front: the Maashaven harbour basin, once an important grain harbour, nowadays primarily a parking lot for riverboats. Katendrecht is a former Rotterdam harbour district near the city of Rotterdam, on the South bank of the river Nieuwe Maas. It once constituted Rotterdam's red-light district and also the first Chinatown in Europe. On the horizon: the slender Euromast tower of architect H.A. Maaskant. Directly left of the Euromast: animal feed factory Provimi. On the right of it, behind the two cranes: the Vopak tower of architect Jan Hoogstad, located north of the river Maas and currently being redeveloped.
